Shares, planes and James Nesbitt thrown in!!

Well talk about a packed weekend - I went on the stockmarket course I mentioned to you last week and boy did I learn some stuff and met some amazing people as well!

I attended the Stockmarket for Beginners hosted by Marcus de Maria who was a thoroughly entertaining trainer. And the best bit is that he's obviously making a LOT of money himself from his trading so what better an endorsement could there be?? We learned strategies about channeling stocks (making money in a sideways market), covered calls (options)(you rent out your shares and make money!) and more long term strategies which are all without a doubt completley do-able online, without a stockbroker and you can find the method that suits the amount of time you have to give to it. The expectation is that you should be achieving 3% to 6% returns a month (before costs) and I have to say that that is something that appeals to me as neither my pensions or my investments are getting that amount of return - apart from the property that is!!

If you're thinking about getting in to stocks and shares you have a few options - you can read and practice, you can pay someone to do it for you (and maybe not that well!) or you can invest two days of your time, a small amount of money compared to your ROI and be in control of your own future financial status. I know which one appealed to me!!

It was also wonderful to see some of my Money Gym friends, Vanessa Bsirsky who has 'pimped' her My Space profile and could teach us all a thing or to and also Sarah Green who is an ex MG member and has grown unbelievably! To everyone else I met, thank you for sharing so much knowledge and insight and for being wonderful company - I had a real laugh, even though my head hurt from the overload of info!!!!

I flew back up to Leeds/Bradford with bmi and I have to say that service was fabulous - £95.20 for a return flight which was cheaper than the train and it arrived early both ways. Yet the best bit was that in the security queue at Heathrow, I stood next to James Nesbitt. What a sexy guy!!! Not sure where he was off to but he can sit next to me any day!!!!!! That made my weekend I have to say!

So think about stocks and shares and speak to Marcus if your'e interested - expert mentors are hard to find and I've found one here!

I'm off to make Lynne "the money magnet" Harrison-Norton a cup of tea as I'm in the office and apparently it's my turn. Loads happening today including some new online strategies but as for the tea making, she's bought me a lemon tart so it's worth it!

Be back soon!

Laws of Attraction - Exciting Times!

This week has been really exciting and I have to say that those amazing laws of attraction are working their magic yet again!

My last post was about the power of focus and so as result of defining what I want to focus on, some really exciting things have appeared for me and are beginning to sow the seeds of what I know will be frutiful rewards in the future.

One of the most exciting things is that my blog is going to be redesigned to be a true reflection of me and my personality. Once it's live I'll share with you the person behind it and let you know how you can get yours done too!

I must also say a huge thank you to Jason Hulott of Speedie PR who has been so generous with his knowledge this week and he's even sorted out my Ecademy signature for me. Thanks Jason - your contribution is appreciated and I can't wait to see the increased traffic results!!!!

Your Lancashire Jobs has also been growing and we've had feedback from people looking for Jobs in Manchester and Jobs in Lancashire to say that they love the site and are really pleased to have a new site dedicated to the region. We're aiming to have 1000 jobs in Lancashire by the end of the month on there so whatch this space!

I'm going to do all the organisation as well today for my stcokmarket course in London this weekend and I'm REALLY looking forward to it! I received an email from someone who has been doing what I'm going to learn to do and I have a feeling this could be a nice source of income soon. Excellent!

Will be back next week and let you know about the new blog, my weekend learnings and much, much more!

Why Focus isn't just a DIY store!

I now I said that I'd post regularly so firstly huge apologies for not doing a single post at all last week. The focus was 50% there but it obviously wasn't enough or I'd have done it, wouldn't I!

The last week has been so busy with the launch of YourLancashireJobs.net as we sent out a mailer which received a tremendous response. In fact we've now got over 600 jobs on the site and we're aiming for 1000 by the end of week - so that'll give me something to focus on!The key to this was not loosing track of every other aim that I have to achieve and I must admit that I'm now using Outlook more than ever to keep me on track. I think that keeping less in my head is reaping its rewards as my days seem to achieve more and this meant I even took last weekend off completely!!!!

I was discussing my new found levels of focus with Philly Richards, my wonderful coach that I'm working with on my Money Gym course. For those of you that are interested in creating wealth or particularly passive revenue and financial independence, this is something I would HIGHLY recommend. In fact, I'm going down to London this weekend on a Stockmarket trading course as this is something I've been wanting to learn to do for a long time. (I promise to tell you all about it next week when I'm back!!)

We both felt that one of the keys to increasing focus was to work on things that you are not only passionate about but also, things that have some relation to each other, in whatever form. So therefore my main focuses now are: Invigorate Recruitment (remind to tell you about the Lynne, the money magnet!), Share the Dream and Your Lancashire Jobs and then combined with that I've got some more online projects on the go which should be finalised and available for launch soon. I also have two other sources of passive income which are property investment and shares, both of which my strategies are in place and I'm now actioning at last!!!

My final thought therefore has to be about something else Philly said, LEVERAGE. How am I leveraging my time and money?? I've got some plans afoot as a result of that and as soon as I get them in place, I will definitley share. If I was superwoman I could do it all, but I'm not.....so my circle of support will be critical and the members have been chosen. You all know who you are!!

Here's to financial freedom and 150% focus!

What Would Life Be Like Without a Good G&T?

Would you be shocked if I said the first thing I did when I got home tonight was down a very large G&T??? I hope not as that's excatly what I did!!

How often do we find outselves saying 'there's not enough hours in the day?' - once, twice, maybe three times a day at least? I think I must have broken the record today as I must have said it at least twenty times!!

At the office today we've worked around an office reorganisation for one of our companies, Invigorate Recruitment as we have our new recruit, Shelley joining us on Monday. (Does she know what she's walking in to??!!) (LOL) In-house DIY as Claire's husband worked around us to put together a new desk, drawers, bookcase and chair. Thank you Neil, you are a complete Godsend!!

This was then followed by the four of us in the office trying to get out a mailshot for Your Lancashire Jobs to 616 companies from scratch and on a completely new software programme we've just installed. It was like a scene from a sitcom to be honest as we all mucked in and undertook various stages. I signed my name 616 and I can definitley say that no two signatures were identical! To make matters worse, I had a hair appointment at 5pm which had been booked for 6 weeks (I'm sure all the girls amongst will know how hard it is to get a hair appointment so you have to keep it when you get it!!) Ifelt so guilty leaving Claire, Lynne and Neil in the office to finish off and I know they did as Claire texted me to say the post box had been stuffed full and we were probably going to get into trouble with Royal Mail!!! Can you imagine what it'll be like there next week when the free trial offer we've sent details out for hopefully gets taken up. I'll be needing a dark room to relax in by this time next week!!!!

It's days like today that make you realise just how important the people around you are in any working environment, whether it's a foraml or informal environment or arrangement. We spend so long with the people in our professional lives that it's ultra important to make sure that the people in your team enhance and enrich our lives. After all, life is about enjoying it surley! And if we can't have a laugh together, the world would be a much worse place.

I have to admit though that going to the hairdresser's was a great way to de-stress to be honest as Claire, who is one of the co-owners of the fab hairdressers I go to BHP in Guiseley, Leeds is brilliant at getting you to chill out whilst your sat in the chair - let alone the head massage I got with the shampoo..devine!! So all I need now is to go to the hairdressers at the end of the working day and I'll be chilled and stress free forever!!!! Don't think that's going to be pratical - do you?!

Would you like to 'Share the Dream'?

Morning all...two post so far this week. Can I keep my New Year's resolution in tact?? I'll try to - promise!

Have I told you yet about Share the Dream? Well it's about time I did then as this is something I'm really proud of.

Two years ago, Claire and I were talking very casually, as you do, about what we were going to do with our wedding dresses and we both felt that they were something we didn't want to keep as we wouldn't be wearing them again and had our special photos and memories. So we looked for somewhere to sell them, didn't want to use an auction site and the other second hand wedding dress sites out there were not to our taste. So after a cheeky glass of wine in the pub after work the following Friday, we decided to set up our own and hence the formation of Share the Dream - www.sharethedream.net

The site has been live now for over two years and we love the fact that not only is it an online business but more so we help make people's dreams come true and also allow former brides to recoup some of their money back. After all, how much is the avergae wedding these days, £17k?

We received this testmonial this week and I wanted to share it with you as I think this sums up the site perfectly.....

I just had to drop you a line and say how wonderful I think your website is. I had been searching for over a year for a particular gown, pre-loved, as there was no way I could afford it new.  I had posted adverts on all the dress selling websites and searched them almost daily to see if anyone had posted 'my' gown in my size.  It never happened. Then one day last week - when to be honest I had almost given up hope of ever getting my dream dress - I thought I would give it one last search.  Your site was the first of the many I had in my saved list that I visited and there it was!  My dress in my size!  I was jumping up and down! I contacted the seller by email and by phone and the transaction went so smoothly that my dress arrived yesterday morning - less than week from when I saw it! It is everything I hoped for and I just want to say thank you for helping me find my dream dress. :-)

Samantha Welsh
What more can I say, we felt such a warm glow when we received this and one of my aims this year was to give something back in a way that was appropriate to me and my business/personal circumstances. I think I'm getting there with having online businesses that of course generate revenue for us but also give something back and offer a service that people need.
What do you think? Feel free to email me with your thoughts anytime......!

Lancashire Jobs goes live!

Well I knew life was never going to be boring and I was proved to be right!

Claire (my business partner) and I have not only set up a new recruitment company called Invigorate Recruitment which went live on 2nd October 2006 but we've launched a fabulous regional Job Board - Your Lancashire Jobs which is focused on putting together employers and candidates together in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas.

Lancashire_logo_large

The site launched officially last week and we've received a tremendous response from both candidates and advertisers so I'm now busy perfecting all my skills in SEO, Google Adwords and anything else you can think of in relation to internet marketing. In fact, if I type much more there'll be steam coming off my fingers!

So if you know anyone located in these areas, please either tell them to add their cv on if they're looking for a new job or contact me if they are an employer or recruitment agecy and would like a free trial - we want as much traffic to the site so all help is very gratefully received!

Also I must mention a HUGE thanks to James Squires at Yorkshire Jobs who has been an absolute star! Thank you from Claire and I!

I'd better go and do some more work on the site now - no rest for the wicked!
