Would you be shocked if I said the first thing I did when I got home tonight was down a very large G&T??? I hope not as that's excatly what I did!!
How often do we find outselves saying 'there's not enough hours in the day?' - once, twice, maybe three times a day at least? I think I must have broken the record today as I must have said it at least twenty times!!
At the office today we've worked around an office reorganisation for one of our companies, Invigorate Recruitment as we have our new recruit, Shelley joining us on Monday. (Does she know what she's walking in to??!!) (LOL) In-house DIY as Claire's husband worked around us to put together a new desk, drawers, bookcase and chair. Thank you Neil, you are a complete Godsend!!
This was then followed by the four of us in the office trying to get out a mailshot for Your Lancashire Jobs to 616 companies from scratch and on a completely new software programme we've just installed. It was like a scene from a sitcom to be honest as we all mucked in and undertook various stages. I signed my name 616 and I can definitley say that no two signatures were identical! To make matters worse, I had a hair appointment at 5pm which had been booked for 6 weeks (I'm sure all the girls amongst will know how hard it is to get a hair appointment so you have to keep it when you get it!!) Ifelt so guilty leaving Claire, Lynne and Neil in the office to finish off and I know they did as Claire texted me to say the post box had been stuffed full and we were probably going to get into trouble with Royal Mail!!! Can you imagine what it'll be like there next week when the free trial offer we've sent details out for hopefully gets taken up. I'll be needing a dark room to relax in by this time next week!!!!
It's days like today that make you realise just how important the people around you are in any working environment, whether it's a foraml or informal environment or arrangement. We spend so long with the people in our professional lives that it's ultra important to make sure that the people in your team enhance and enrich our lives. After all, life is about enjoying it surley! And if we can't have a laugh together, the world would be a much worse place.
I have to admit though that going to the hairdresser's was a great way to de-stress to be honest as Claire, who is one of the co-owners of the fab hairdressers I go to BHP in Guiseley, Leeds is brilliant at getting you to chill out whilst your sat in the chair - let alone the head massage I got with the shampoo..devine!! So all I need now is to go to the hairdressers at the end of the working day and I'll be chilled and stress free forever!!!! Don't think that's going to be pratical - do you?!
Debs x

Debbie, I have to congratulate you and Claire on what you have achieved so far with www.yourlancashirejobs.net. You've managed to launch the site in record time with staggering results. You really have set the benchmark for future sites. I wish you every success going forward.
